Umami´s chef de cuisine is Janno Lepik, and Asian-style flavours and good domestic produce are a great combination in his hands. There is more playfulness in the kitchen and it is not tied into state borders, which makes things more interesting.

– I “cut my teeth” in London, working at beloved restaurants like Babylon and Rhodes W1. I´m a real ”foody” and work is my hobby. At Umami we love simple dishes made of high-quality, fresh and seasonal ingredients. We cooperate with local farmers, but also having fun with some great “imported” flavours. Our choice of beverages is rather original and various than enormous. From freshly squeezed juices and craft beers to carefully selected wines and home made spirits we find something suitable to every taste. For craft beer lovers we even brew our own beer!
In addition to Kristjan, there are other award-winning employees aswell as Annika Uibo won the people´s choice award at the S.Pellegrino Young Chef 2015 competition.
